Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar did quite well at the box office on Thursday and Friday as well after getting off to a strong start on Wednesday during the partial Holi vacation. While Saturday and Sunday are still to arrive and there will be good jumps witnessed, the first three day collections of 36.59 crores are a terrific number. In fact, it won't surprise anyone at all if Sunday's sales exceed 20 crores.

According to the first three days of revenue at the box office, the movie is now Ranbir Kapoor's fifth highest opening of all time. While Brahmastra and Sanju dominate the show with a century apiece to their credit, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani had also surpassed the half-century mark to bring in 62.11 crores, while Tamasha was somewhat higher as well. Now that Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, another romantic comedy, has found a location next to it, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil will be passed.

Brahmastra – 122 crores,

Sanju – 120.06 crores,

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani – 62.11 crores,

Tamasha – 38.23 crores,

Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar – 36.59 crores

Ranbir Kapoor would be primarily chasing Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani statistics in the days to come. After its first week, that movie went on to earn a century, and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar will aim to top that after its first seven days. Sanju and Brahmastra are essentially unbeatable and will continue to hold the top spots for all records, including lifetime statistics. But that would be ok as long as Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar ends up becoming one of Ranbir Kapoor's Top-5 movies.

Meanwhile, TJMM also stars Dimple Kapadia, Anubhav Bassi and Boney Kapoor in pivotal roles. It has released in theatres and will soon be available for streaming on Netflix.
