Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar director Luv Ranjan on why only his female leads are liars: Other filmmakers are showcasing males as liars for 50 years now

The much-awaited trailer for Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor is finally out. Directed by Luv Ranjan, the comedy-drama movie is slated to release soon in theatres. During the trailer launch event, the filmmaker gave a befitting reply when asked why the female protagonists in his movies are liars.

Talking about his characters, the director revealed that in the upcoming film both the protagonists are equally liars, "In this film, the guy is calling himself a 'makkar' (liar) too. It's not that people are breaking hearts only. And both of them are liars in this film. He is 'makkar' she is 'jhuthi.' This time both are equally responsible." Meanwhile, Shraddha meddled between the conversation and jokingly, "You know, who my father is, right? So that's why."

Further, Luv gets asked if the audience will ever be able to see a girl in a positive role and a boy as a heartbreaker in his future films, to which he replies, "Rest of the filmmakers are doing a great job on that subject. the directors are showcasing males as liars and females as good-hearted for 50 years."

To announce the trailer release date and time Shraddha took to her official Twitter handle to share a new poster featuring her with Ranbir with a quirky and interesting caption that reads, "DISCLAIMER! The feelings shown in this poster are purely fictitious. The forthcoming flick marks the acting debut of filmmaker Boney Kapoor and popular stand-up comedian Anubav Singh Bassi, and also has Dimple Kapadia in a key role.

Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar is slated to release in theatres on during Holi on March 8, 2023.
