Tuhina Das begins filming for Rohan Sen’s Aparajita

After delivering multiple hits on Hoichoi, from Damayanti to Nokol Heere, up-and-coming Tollywood actress Tuhina Das is all set to return to films with Rohan Sen’s Aparajita. She was last seen on the big screen in Aparna Sen’s Ghawre Baire Aaj. Playing the titular character, Tuhina has already started shooting for the upcoming movie.

In a chat with ETimes, she expressed how satisfying it is to shoot for a film, which has its unique charm. When asked about the film, Tuhina informed that Aparajita is based on a conflicted father-daughter relationship, with Shantilal Mukherjee essaying the role of her dad. His shoot began today. They have interacted over video calls during their acting workshops for the film, she said.

Divulging a few more details about the project, Tuhina explained that Aparajita is an independent person, who interacts with her father only through writing notes in a diary, without any verbal communication as she believes him to be responsible for her mother’s death.

The movie would chronicle the gradual journey of their relationship over the course of the plot, with Aparajita slowly realising that she may be dependent on her father to some extent. The storyline would also explore her budding relationship with a guy in her office, which might be friendship or love. She believes her role will be quite relatable to the audience, as well as entertaining.

Director Rohan Sen’s latest feature film Ebhabei Golpo Hok, made its world digital premier last month on Klikk Originals and won the Dadasaheb Phalke Special Jury Mention Award. Thus, his upcoming movie Aparajita, starring Tuhina Das, Shantilal Mukherjee and Amrita De among many others, is one to look out for.
