Tumi Ashe Pashe Thakle: Nabanita Das makes a grand entry in the show

Angana Roy and Rohaan Bhattacharjee’s mega serial Tumi Ashe Pashe Thakle is garnished with a bit of supernatural seasoning. The serial that streams on Disney+ Hotstar started its journey last November. This is a comeback mega serial for Rohan Bhattacharya, while Angana Roy plays the female lead. The serial failed to leave any significant mark at the 8 pm prime time slot. Now, the makers and the channel took a tough decision. 

There will be a new entry to the serial. After the female lead Paro’s (Angana) death, Dev, played by Rohaan, married a doppelgänger of Paro. Now, there is a twist in the story – Paro is not dead after all. Nabanita Das will play the new Paro, while Angana will play Parvati.

In an interview with Hindustan Times Bangla, Nabanita said, “I finished shooting Biyer Ful in January and took a break for two months after that. I went for a trip. I started shooting Tumi Ashe Pashe Thakle two days back. I shot for just one day. The work will start again on Tuesday, after Holi.” 

Nabanita and Rohaan, though acquainted with each other through the gym, did not work together. Nabanita said, “I never joined a serial in the midway. I have to follow what happened before in the story. I previously watched some of the episodes, but did not know that I would join the cast.” 

Why did she agree to do the role? “Paro’s character is different. There were some supernatural shades in the beginning. The relationship between Dev and Paro is a bit unconventional. The boy suffers from emotional conflicts. I never worked in a love triangle story before. Here, the hero marries another girl after his childhood friend goes away. How will the two girls move the story forward? How will Dev handle this? These attracted me. If the audience already saw Paro, then how can I justify the character? I have to be focused and work hard for the character, but I am ready,” said the actress.  

Nabanita Das will be seen from Tuesday. After the accident, Paro’s face changed due to plastic surgery. Angana Roy will continue her acting as before in Parvati’s role.
