After a successful first season streaming on Netflix, Engineering Girls is coming back with the second season. But this time, the series will drop on ZEE5 much to the excitement of the fans. Titled Engineering Girls 2.0 – Sapno Ki Theory, Life Ke Practicals, the web series is premiering on August 27, 2021. For the uninitiated, the first season dropped in the year 2018 ad became an instant hit.
ZEE5 posted a teaser video with a caption stating, "Girl's hostel mein patakhe doobara footenge! Kiara, Magu & Sabu are back with a bang to live out their last days of college full masti mein. Tag your favourite actress and tell them how excited you are to catch #EngineeringGirlsS2 #ComingSoon."
The second season will consist of five episodes and makers described it as 'modern-day college drama, set in an engineering college and girls’ hostel'.
The series is directed by Apoorv Singh Karki and stars Barkha Singh, Sejal Kumar and Kritika Avasthi in the lead roles.
Talking about the show, the founder of TVF, Arunabh Kumar said in a statement, "With a partner like ZEE5, we hope to take this story forward as we collectively want to bust the stereotype that Engineering means just boys."
He also shared that the show is very special to them as there are a lot of female founders and engineers who are doing some amazing work in STEM fields. He added that they have rarely seen the perspective and world of women in mainstream content and Engineering Girls aimed to change that with the first season itself.
The story in the second season revolves around Maggu, Sabu and Kiara on how they are beginning to get serious about life after college as it is their final year. The upcoming season will also follow their daily misadventures and how they solve their way out of every situation to make their dreams come true, coming together, better, and stronger in the end.
