OTT deals are indeed turning out to be the most crucial dimension of the pre-release business of films in the recent years. For small/medium budget films that may release in theatres amidst heavy competition, it’s the OTT premiere that gives them a second chance to reach out to audiences. Two Souls, a Telugu indie film, after its theatrical run, is now out on Amazon Prime Video.

Trinadh Varma Kalidindi, Bhavana Sagi played the leads in the romance directed by newcomer Shravan Kolanu. The film was bankrolled by Vijaya Lakshmi Veluri under Parama Krishna Pictures and Creations. Two Souls had a limited release on April 21 and earned favourable reviews for its unique premise and performances. Mounika Reddy, Ravi Teja Mahadasyam essayed supporting roles too.

The story revolves around Akhil (Trinadh Varma), a happy-go-lucky youngster who is dejected to know that his lady love Priya (Mounika Reddy) is cheating on him and plans to end his life. While Akhil miraculously survives and lands in a hospital, he soon finds out that his soul has left his body. Only Priya (Bhavana Sagi) can spot his soul - what connects the two? Where’s the tale headed?

Pratik Abhyankar and Anand Nambiar composed the music for this film. Multiple songs from Two Souls - including Jilibili, Hey Hello, earned popularity on Youtube and other music streaming platforms. Sanjay Ganta penned the lyrics for the numbers. Shashank Sriram cranked the camera for the project and Naga Durgarao Sana was the executive producer.

Bhavana Sagi, the lead actress in Two Souls, also acted in the OTT show Dead Pixels, directed by Aditya Mandala, now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. She was also part of another feature film Dhwani and starred in Nagesh Kukunoor’s Telugu show Modern Love Hyderabad. Mounika Reddy, the other lead, was part of films like Bheemla Nayak, Thank You Brother.
