Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies to distribute Santhanam's Gulu Gulu

Santhanam's upcoming comic caper Gulu Gulu is all set to hit theatres on July 29. The film, directed by Rathna Kumar, has Athulya Chandran playing the lead. The latest we hear about the film is that Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies will distribute the film in Tamil Nadu. The production house shared the news on its social media page, "Delighted to announce that we have acquired the Tamil Nadu Theatrical Distribution rights of #GuluGulu.🎉🤣 The Ultimate laughter and chaos is coming. In cinemas from July 29th.🤩 @iamsanthanam @MrRathna @circleboxE @Music_Santhosh @KVijayKartik @rajnarayanan_ @jacki_art (sic)."

Earlier, it was announced that Sun NXT had acquired the digital rights of the film and that Sun TV had bagged the satellite rights. Sun NXT shared the same on its social media handle, "Digital rights of Santhanam starrer Gulu Gulu acquired by Sun NXT. @iamsanthanam @MrRathna @circleboxE @Music_Santhosh @KVijayKartik @rajnarayanan_ @jacki_art @SonyMusicSouth @Kirubakaran_AKR @proyuvraaj #GuluGulu #GuluGuluWithSunNXT #SunNXT (sic)."

We hear that Santhanam plays a character that knows almost everything in the film and hence, is referred to as Google by the people. But since he is not fluent in English, he hears it as Gulu Gulu. The comedy entertainer stars Namitha Krishnamurthy, Pradeep Rawat, Mariyam George, Sai Dheena, Lollu Sabha Maaran and Lollu Sabha Seshu. The film has music by Santhosh Narayanan, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan and editing by Philomin Raj. Jacki had handled the art direction. Gulu Gulu is bankrolled by Raj Narayanan. 

While Gulu Gulu is Rathna Kumar's third directorial project after Meyaadha Maan and Aadai, this will be the first theatrical release of Santhanam this year. He was last seen in Sabhaapathy, which released in November 2021. The film is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Santhanam also has in his kitty Manoj Beedha's Agent Kannayiram and an untitled project with Kannada filmmaker Prashant Raj.
