Ugram trailer: Allari Naresh is a ‘bloody’ cop taking on the trafficking mafia

Allari Naresh, ever since the release of Maharshi, is committed to rediscovering himself film after film. The commercially successful Naandhi, a courtroom thriller, was a game-changer in his career and transformed his outlook towards cinema. After impressing with a solid performance in Itlu Maredumilli Prajaneekam in 2022, he’s reuniting with director Vijay Kanakamedala for Ugram.

Ugram, in which Naresh is paired opposite Mirnaa (who last acted in Crazy Fellow), releases in theatres on May 5. After unveiling the teaser and a series of songs, the makers launched the trailer today. As promised, Ugram is here to deliver a good mix of action, thrills and solid drama. Naresh is cast as a ferocious cop who’ll ensure justice to common man, come what may.

The trailer commences with Naresh’s car flying mid-air. Later, the focus shifts to a case where several children, men and women in the city go missing; Naresh’s child and his wife are among them. There’s more to the case than meets the eye and the cop takes it upon himself to find answers. There’s no hope in sight and when he nearly finds the culprit, his world turns topsy turvy.

In another look, Naresh, who’s on a sabbatical, is out for revenge. He transforms into a beast with anger and spares none. There’s gory action, he seems unstoppable and still feels responsible to finish the case he was entrusted with, many years ago. Indraja and Akhanda fame Sharath Lohitashwa are other familiar faces in the film. This is a feast for action junkies out there.

Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi are bankrolling the film under Shine Screens. Sri Charan Pakala scores the music and Chota K Prasad is the editor. Toom Venkat has written the story while Abburi Ravi is the dialogue writer. The other crew memers are production designer Brahma Kadali, cinematographer Siddharth J and costume designer Kilari Lakshmi Sree.
