The actor talks about his upcoming film that is directed by Kaushik Ganguly

After completing his post-graduation from the University of Oxford, Ujaan Ganguly is back in Kolkata and waiting for the release of his film Lokkhi Chele. Directed by his father Kaushik Ganguly, the film is all set to release on August 25. The film was created earlier but its release was stalled because of the pandemic.
In an interview with Anandabazar Online, Ujaan said, “My character is more sensitive and braver than me. He is keener to help others. I think I will have to learn a lot from my film character.”
Lokkhi Chele is a film that delves into a number of superstitions that are practised in rural Bengal. In a poster of the film, we see Ujaan’s character Amir Hussain holding a baby that has four hands and two legs. In the interview, the actor said, “Not that my character will remain calm and nice. Everybody has another side of their character.
Ujaan debuted in Pavel’s Rosogolla in 2018. Later, he travelled to the UK for further studies. However, he has been working as a stage actor for a long time. He diligently took part in plays during his college life at Jadavpur University. This will be the first time he worked under his father’s direction. He confessed that acting is his passion. He said that he gives his 100% when he is on stage or in front of the camera. However, he also wished to pursue research in his subject.
Ujaan will be seen in other films in near future. He pens stories. He says he would like to try direction like his father. He said, “Right now I am an actor. But in the future, I would also want to have two more identities – one of a director, who wants to tell stories and another, a student, who always wants to learn.
