Ulajh box office collection day 2: Janhvi Kapoor’s thriller, Ulajh, took a sluggish start at the box office upon its release. The film, which is directed by Sudhanshu Saria, made merely Rs. 1.15 crore on its opening day. The film took a small jump on its second day, i.e., on Saturday but is still struggling to collect good numbers.
After collecting Rs. 1.15 crore on its first day, Janhvi’s thriller made Rs. 1.70 crore on day 2, according to Sacnilk.com. On Saturday, August 03, 2024, the film’s Hindi occupancy rate was 19.11% overall (18.02% in afternoon shows, 21.33% during evening shows, and night shows were 28.45%.)
The total collection of the film now stands at Rs. 2.85 crore. With the sluggish start of the film at the ticket window, it seems tough for it to pick even on Sunday.
Ulajh locked horns with Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha at the box office. However, despite being a film with big names attached to it, the Ajay Devgn film is not the one competing with Ulajh. Both the Hindi releases are struggling at the box office and are facing tough competition with the Hollywood superhero film - 'Deadpool Vs Wolverine'.

The narrative of the film revolves around Suhana (Janhvi Kapoor), an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) Officer. As she takes up the new and respectable post as the newest Deputy Hig Commissioner, she must deftly handle a difficult assignment in the London embassy while coming under intense scrutiny.
Alongside Janhvi, the film also stars Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Adil Hussain, and Meiyang Chang, among others. Directed by Sudhanshu Saria, the film is produced by Vineet Jain and co-produced by Amrita Pandey.
An excerpt from the OTTplay review of the film read: "Ulajh will transport you through intricate situations that will keep your mind engaged. However, the aftertaste may seem superficial, as the film attempts to keep you on the edge, only to bring you back. However, what completely works for the film are the performances by the ensemble cast."
