Director Salim Ahamed has announced back-to-back production ventures this week. After Neeraj Madhav and Aparna Balamurali-starrer Sundari Gardens, the National Award-winning filmmaker’s next production has Unni Mukundan and Aparna in the lead, with Luca director Arun Bose at the helm.
The movie went on floors a few days ago in Ernakulam. Scripted by Arun and Mridhul George, who had also written Tovino Thomas and Ahaana Krishna’s Luca, it is touted to be a romantic film that also has Jude Anthany Joseph, Maala Parvathy and Jaffer Idukki as part of the cast.
Madhu Ambat, who had earlier cranked the camera for Adaminte Makan Abu and And The Oscar Goes To…, is the cinematographer of the film which has Ernakulam and Cheruthoni in Idukki as its prime locations.
The yet-to-be-titled movie marks the second production of Salim Ahamed, after Charlie Davis’ Sundari Gardens that has Aparna playing a librarian named Sundari Sara Mathew and Neeraj essaying the character of an English teacher. The movie is a romantic musical, with songs composed by Alphons Joseph.
Meanwhile, Aparna has also completed shooting for a segment in the Netflix anthology based on acclaimed writer MT Vasudevan Nair’s literary works. Her segment is directed by Kammarasambhavam filmmaker Rathish Ambat and also has Indrajith Sukumaran and Ann Augustine as part of the cast.
Unni, on the other hand, has a huge line-up of upcoming releases including Bro Daddy, 12th Man, Meppadiyan and Khiladi. The actor has also wrapped up the shoot of his Telugu movie Khiladi and is reportedly playing a lead in another pan-Indian Telugu venture titled Yashoda, which has Samantha as the female protagonist.
