Unni Mukundan responds to manager's assault claims: 'Attempt to sabotage my bond with Tovino Thomas'

Unni Mukundan, who emerged to be Malayalam's latest action superstar with Marco's success, has been in the news lately after his former manager, Vipin Kumar, claimed that the actor assaulted him. A written complaint by Vipin has been doing the rounds on social media, in which he has alleged that Unni Mukundan assaulted him for praising Tovino Thomas-starrer Narivetta. Now, Unni Mukundan has responded to the allegations, stating these are attempts to sabotage his bond with the Mayaanadhi star.

Unni Mukundan reacts to assault allegations

In conversation with Manorama Online, Unni Mukundan categorically stated that he has not done anything to physically harm Vipin Kumar. The star said he had only confronted Vipin after he got to know that the latter had been spreading misinformation about him. Unni Mukundan told the Malayalam news portal that Vipin had attempted to malign his image and he was shocked to see such actions by a person who had been with him for years.

As per the Manorama Online report, Unni had gone to Vipin’s flat in Kochi with their common friend Vishnu Unnithan and confronted him at the flat’s basement, which is covered by CCTV cameras and hence can be verified. Unni further asked Vipin to tender a written apology over the incident and return his social media accounts and passwords.

Dissimissing Vipin's allegations against him in connection with Narivetta, Unni Mukundan termed it as a 'propaganda'. "Now, he is attempting to cover up his mistakes and making such allegations," Unni said that it is an attempt to sabotage his bond with Tovino Thomas.

Stating that he had personally called Tovino Thomas, Unni said that they have been friends since they came into the industry. "No such false claims can ruin our friendship," he said, adding that Tovino had celebrated the Marco success along with him. Unni Mukundan and Tovino Thomas have starred together in Style. 

Vipin Kumar files police complaint against Unni Mukundan

Earlier, Unni Mukundan’s former manager Vipin Kumar had raised serious allegations against the Malayalam star. In his police complaint, Vipin claimed that Unni Mukundan had physically harmed him and verbally abused him for praising Tovino Thomas’ Narivetta. Vipin further told the media that Unni had been upset as he had not been getting good roles after Marco, which was a phenomenal hit.
