Samantha Ruth Prabhu is one of the most popular names in Indian cinema today. Samantha’s Yashoda co-star Unni Mukundan has now opened up about working with her, and explained the intensity of her action sequences from the upcoming movie. 

The popular young Malayalam actor told ETimes that he has completed filming Yashoda and called it an honour to work with Samantha. Calling Samantha a talented actor, Unni said that she has done some really good work in the movie. 

“Samantha is extremely hardworking,” Unni Mukundan said. “She had a lot of action sequences in ‘Yashoda’, and they weren’t easy. When you do a certain kind of action, it does take a toll on you. But she was very committed and I saw it in person.” 

The 12th Man actor also talked about Samantha’s role in The Family Man, saying that he was impressed by her role in the Amazon Prime Video series, where she plays a Tamil rebel operative fighting for the Tamil Eelam, living incognito in Chennai. The series features Samantha pulling off a number of high-octane action sequences. 

Directed by Hari Shankar and Harish Narayan, Yashoda is touted to be a sci-fi action thriller. Hollywood stunt choreographer Yannick Ben has worked with Samantha in the project, which is bankrolled by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad. 

Apart from Samantha and Unni, the movie also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Sampath Raj, Kalpika, Divya, Priyanka Sharma, Madhurima and Shatru among others in important roles. 

Samantha was last seen in Vignesh Shivan’s Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal co-starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. The actor is also working on Shaakuntalam and Kushi. 

Unni Mukundan on the other hand, was last seen in Jeethu Joseph’s whodunit, 12th Man. Starring Mohanlal in the lead, the movie is available on Disney+ Hotstar.
