Earlier this year, he had also revealed to OTTplay that he will be venturing into direction next year.

Incidentally, Unni had started out his career assisting writer-director Lohithadas before getting the opportunity to act in the Tamil remake of Nandandam titled Seedhan, which had Dhanush and Ananya. The act also worked as an associate director in Sethu’s Oru Kuttanadan Blog, which had Mammootty in the lead.

Meanwhile, Unni is riding high on the success of his debut production Meppadiyan, which recently won the Best Indian Cinema award at this year’s Bangalore International Film Festival. The movie, which is directed by Vishnu Mohan and has Unni playing the lead role of an automobile mechanic who gets caught up in a hassle due to a land deal, is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
