Prithviraj Sukumaran seems to have pulled off a casting coup for his second directorial Bro Daddy. Apart from Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Soubin Shahir, we now hear that Unni Mukundan will also be part of the film, which is currently being shot in Hyderabad.
The movie, which is touted to be a feel-good, family entertainer, is scripted by Sreejith N and Bibin Malieckal and has Mohanlal and Prithviraj in the lead. Unni had earlier worked with Prithviraj in Bhramam, which is the Malayalam remake of Ayushmann Khurrana’s AndhaDhun. He plays a cop in the film, helmed by cinematographer-director Ravi K Chandran.
On working with Prithviraj in the film, Unni had earlier told OTTplay, “He is someone I really look up to. Though we belong to different spaces, I see how confident he is about his work. I am the same in my space. When Mallu Singh happened, it was a huge compliment for me to get a role that was meant for him. It was also a burden because both our career graphs are entirely different. I was trying to figure out what my next step was and he had already done 50-plus films. He was focused on what he wanted to achieve while I was still unclear. Now, however, I am sure about where I want my career to go for the next few years.”
Meanwhile, Unni will also be working with Mohanlal in 12th Man, the superstar’s next with Drishyam director Jeethu Joseph. The mystery-thriller has an ensemble cast featuring Shine Tom Chacko, Saiju Kurup, Chandu Nath, Aditi Ravi, Priyanka Nair, Veena Nandakumar, Leona Lishoy and Sshivada.
Mohanlal is expected to join the sets of 12th Man as soon as he finishes the shoot of Prithviraj’s Bro Daddy.
