Upacharapoorvam Gunda Jayan trailer: Saiju Kurup stars in this comedy drama about a wedding

The makers of Saiju Kurup starrer Upacharapoorvam Gunda Jayan have released the official trailer for the movie. The trailer of the comedy drama produced by Dulquer Salmaan hints at an entertainer that could impress the fans. 

The trailer reveals the story of the movie will revolve around a wedding and events that take place on the days leading to the big event. While the woman who is to be married does not want to get married, her family shrugs off her requests of wanting to marry the person she loves. 

A number of characters from the story are introduced in the trailer, including Kurup’s Gunda Jayan, the bride’s uncle, who wants to see his niece married off. The trailer also hints that the wedding soon goes south, with the bride eloping before the marriage happens, leading to some drama. 

The trailer hints at a comedy entertainer that will have its fair dose of drama and engaging characters, with the titular Gunda Jayan taking centre stage. Saiju Kurup looks convincing as the character in what is his 100th movie. 

The movie is directed by Arun Vaiga and is backed by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer films. While Bijibal is the music director for the project, the cinematography and editing are by Eldho Issac and Kiran Das respectively. 

Apart from Kurup, the movie also stars Siju Wilson, Shabareesh Varma, Johny Antony, Sabumon, Sudheer Karamana, Jaffer Idukki, Biju Sopanam, and Thatteem Mutteem fame Sagar Surya. 

With the songs from the movie already striking a chord with the Malayali audience, the trailer has also help ed raise their expectations of the movie, which is set to hit theatres on February 25.
