Here's the latest from the upcoming Tovino Thomas-starrer Malayalam film Identity. It has been revealed that Tamil actor Vinay Rai has been roped in to play an important role in the film.
The makers of the film have released a character poster featuring Vinay in a cop avatar. The actor, who is known for playing villains in films like Thupparivalan, Doctor, and Etharkkum Thunindhavan, was also a part of Mammootty's Malayalam film Christopher.
What is the film about?
Identity is an action-packed movie directed by Anas Khan and Akhil Paul, who were the men behind Tovino's film Forensic. Reports suggest that Identity will be released across India and feature thrilling action scenes. The production team has brought on board a Hollywood stunt director whose name will be announced soon.
When will Identity go on floors?
During an exclusive interview with OTTplay, Akhil, the co-writer of Identity, revealed that the shooting for the film will commence in September after Tovino wraps up the shoot for Nadikar Thilakam. Akhil also clarified that the film is not an investigative thriller.
Trisha replaces Madonna Sebastian as the female lead of Identity
Recently, Trisha replaced Madonna Sebastian as the female lead of Identity . The makers haven't yet disclosed the reason for this change. This will be Trisha's third Malayalam film after Hey Jude and Ram.
Tovino's current projects
Meanwhile, Tovino is currently shooting for Nadikar Thilakam, whose story revolves around the life of an actor. The movie, helmed by Lal Jr, is a commercial entertainer that also stars Soubin Shahir, Bhavana, Anoop Menon, and Dhyan Sreenivasan in pivotal roles. It is being bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, the production house behind Allu Arjun's hit film Pushpa: The Rise.
Tovino's upcoming release, Ajayante Randam Moshanam, is a period-action movie in which he plays three different characters. The actor recently shared some stills from the set, describing the shoot as a "larger-than-life experience".
