Upendra’s nephew Niranjan Sudhindra’s next is a thriller called Hunter

Niranjan Sudhindra, the nephew of Kannada cinema’s Real Star Upendra, who made his onscreen debut with Priyanka Upendra’s Second Half, is yet to have a solo release. But the young actor has already signed his fourth film as lead hero. Niranjan, who is awaiting the release of Nam Hudugaru, which is his debut as solo lead, and Super Star, a dance-based drama, has signed up for director Nagashekar’s next called ‘Q’ and a fourth called Hunter, which went on floors today.

Launched over the weekend by Niranjan’s uncle Upendra and his wife Priyanka, Hunter is a crime thriller directed by Vinay Krishna, who had earlier made the Chiranjeevi Sarja-starrer Seizer. Hunter, which has the tagline ‘On Duty’, pairs Niranjan with Mollywood import Sowmya Menon, and will also star Prakash Raj, Nassar and Suman in pivotal roles. The film is being produced by Trivikrama Sapalya, who had backed Seizer as well. Hunter is being pegged as a pan-India project that will be released in five languages – Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.

Niranjan’s film with Nagashekar, meanwhile, is an action thriller based on the subject of examination question papers leaking and will, reportedly, introduce Avantika Dassani, the daughter of Bollywood actress Bhagyashree to Kannada cinema. The college caper will have Satya Hegde handling the camera, while Ravi Varma will be the stunt co-ordinator, with B Ajaneesh Loknath composing the music. Nagashekar is producing the film along with Vijay Sasanur.

As for the Ramesh Venkat Babu directed Super Star, Niranjan, we hear, is playing a dancer of international repute in the film, which will see him in a beefed up avatar.
