Upload, the show that takes a cue from Black Mirror and Swan Song, is back with another season which hopefully answers some very important questions. The Amazon show is set to return for its second season on March 11.
Amazon Prime Video made the announcement on its official social media handles, which also included a poster for the upcoming season featuring the show’s cast.
Set in the near future, Upload is set in a world where people are able to upload their consciousness to a virtual world after they die so that they can live in a digital afterlife. The series follows the story of a computer programmer named Nathan who grapples with adjusting to the digital afterlife after his sudden death. He finds himself falling in love with his alive ‘handler’ or customer service representative Nora. As the show progresses, some peculiar happenings lead Nora to suspect that there was more to Nathan’s death than she realised.
The second season will see Nathan’s life get more complicated as his former girlfriend enters the afterlife as well, and wants to continue their relationship. Nora’s search for answers continues as she becomes a part of a rebel group.
The second season comes almost two years after its first, which premiered in 2020. The series had been renewed for a second season a week after its debut.
Robbie Amell and Andy Allo star as Nathan and Nora respectively. The series also features Allegra Edwards, Zainab Johnson, Kevin Bigley, and Josh Banday.
The series comes from Greg Daniels, who is well known for his work on popular shows such as Parks and Recreation, The Office, Space Force and King of the Hill.
