Uriyadi Vijayakumar completes shooting for his next with Abbas A Rahmath

Actor Vijayakumar, who shot to fame with his critically acclaimed film Uriyadi, has wrapped up shoot for his next with director Abbas A Rahmath. The film, which is untitled, has Vijayakumar in the lead. The actor took to his social media page to share the news. He wrote, "The shooting of my next film directed by @Abbas_A_Rahmath, produced by Adi for @reel_good_films has been wrapped up successfully. 😊 #ReelGoodFilmsProductionNo1 @adi_producer #GovindVasantha @editorKripa @leonbrittodp @VickyStunt_dir #Ezhumalai @proyuvraaj (sic)." He also shared a picture with the entire team. Vijayakumar also shared a reel from the celebration after the wrap up of the shoot.

The shoot for the film had begun last year in June. The makers had then shared a picture from the mahurat shot, and captioned it, "The shooting of our debut production starring #Uriyadi @Vijay_B_Kumar in a youth action-drama directed by @Abbas_A_Rahmath (Asst. director Uriyadi 1&2) has commenced today in Chennai. A #GovindVasantha musical 🎵@adi_producer @proyuvraaj (sic)." Though the plot for the film hasn't been revealed yet, Lean Britto has handled the cinematography, Kripakaran has handled the editing. The film is expected to hit screens by the end of the year.

Vijayakumar shot to fame with Uriyadi (2016), a film, in which not only played the lead, but also helmed it, marking his directorial debut. Uriyadi was a campus drama and political thriller that revolved around the caste system. Vijayakumar had written the script for the film, when he had moved to the United States in 2011.The film went on to win critical acclaim and the script, screenplay, performances, direction and technical aspects of the film, all went on to win praise. A spiritual sequel to the film, Uriyadi 2 was released in 2019, and the film, too, turned out to be a commercial success. Vijayakumar once again doubled as the lead actor and director. The film was produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment. Later, Vijayakumar went on work in Suriya's much-acclaimed Soorarai Pottru, as a writer. Now, the youngster is awaiting the release of his third venture as an actor.
