Urvashi's daughter Tejalakshmi to make her film debut, the latest Malayalam star kid in the block

Malayalam cinema to get another star kid! Tejalakshmi, the daughter of Urvashi and Manoj K Jayan, will be starring in the lead role in a Malayalam film. The film's title has been announced as Sundariyayaval Stella. June star Sarjano Khalid will be playing the lead hero. Here are all the details about the debut project of Tejalakshmi.

Urvashi’s daughter Tejalakshmi to enter Malayalam cinema

Tejalakshmi will be making her film debut with Sundariyayaval Stella, the film’s makers announced in a press meet held in Kochi on June 11. The upcoming Malayalam will be helmed by Binu Peter, who is also penning the script. Mohammed Sali will be producing the film under the banner of Ikka Productions. Tejalakshmi will be playing the titular role in Sundariyayaval Stella, which will have Sarjano Khalid as the leading man. The rest of the cast details were not revealed on Wednesday. The film will start shooting shortly in and around Ernakulam, the media was informed.

Urvashi on her daughter’s film debut

Urvashi herself had first spoken about the debut of Tejalakshmi or Kunjatta, as she is affectionately called and even known in Malayalam media circles. In an earlier interview, Urvashi had said that Tejalakshmi had completed her studies and even worked for a year, and was interested in trying her luck in cinema. The youngster had told her mother that she would work for a year, and if it doesn't work out, she will return to her job.

Urvashi, on the other hand, was seen in films such as Ullozhukku. Her film Iyer in Arabia made its digital premiere on OTTplay Premium recently.

Tejalakshmi is the daughter of Urvashi and Manoj K Jayan. The couple tied the knot in 2000 but got divorced in 2008.

Though not actively discussed as in Bollywood, Malayalam cinema has its share of star kids. Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s son Pranav has starred in movies such as Adi, while megastar Mammootty’s son Dulquer Salmaan has led several films such as Salute and Charlie and acted in other languages as well.
