Iconic Malayalam actors Mohanlal and Urvashi were top onscreen couples during the 1990s, having delivered several popular films such as Bharatham and Mithunam. Though Urvashi is active in Malayalam cinema after taking a break in between, she hasn’t been featured in a film with Mohanlal. Urvashi recently said that there needs to be a script suitable for the veteran actors, hinting at why it can’t be a series film like Thudarum.

In a recent chat with Movie World Media, Urvashi was asked about when the viewers can expect to see a film of hers with Mohanlal. The award-winning actress said that viewers would expect humour to be a key aspect of any movie of Mohanlal and Urvashi. “First, somebody has to bring such a script. When it is Mohanlal and me, viewers would be expecting a big element of humour in the film. Not a serious film. They won’t be expecting a Thudarum,” the Ullozhukku actress said.
Thudarum is a 2025 Malayalam film, which marked the onscreen reunion of Mohanlal-Shobana, an iconic pair in Malayalam. The lead actors were paired as husband and wife, and the initial scenes had comedy and cute romance between the actors. However, the film then changes gears, and becomes a gripping thriller after the stepson of Mohanlal’s character Benz gets killed by the cops.
