Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela is all set to make her debut in the Tamil film industry with The Legend. The film, directed by JD-Jerry also marks the acting debut of businessman Saravanan Arul, who has also doubled up as the producer. The team was in Bengaluru today for the trailer launch of the Kannnada version of the film.

Speaking on the occasion, Urvashi said that it was always her dream to do a film in the southern languages. "I always had this dream that I should do one film in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam. This is my second Kannada film. I had earlier worked in Airavata with Challenging Star Dharshan Thoogudeepa. At that time, I wasn't aware about how things worked as I was very new to the industry. But despite that, I had a great time and the film went on to become a hit. After that, I got busy in Bollywood, but in my heart, I knew that I had to do a Kannada film again."

Though The Legend has been shot in Tamil, the film will be released in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi as well. "This is first ever pan Indian film. I believe that it's important for every artiste to have that wide reach. It's great when you have worked hard on a character and watch the audience getting entertained by your performance. It makes all the more special."

Taking about her character in the film, Urvashi says, "I am really happy to be part of the film. I play a microbiologist in it. I got to do a lot of emotional scenes, action and dance. There is a lot of versatality in the film. We shot certain portions in Ukraine before the devastation happened. Thankfully, we finished it on time. The film's album has soulful song sung by Shreya Ghoshal. " Music for the film is by Harris Jayaraj, who is making a comeback of sorts after a hiatus of three years.
