After the slump in Bollywood since the pandemic and the rise in popularity of South Indian films, Shah Rukh Khan has been credited with bringing back the glory of the Hindi film industry with his latest blockbuster release, Pathaan. While SRK is being written about all over the world, and rightfully so, a US journalist has been receiving backlash on Twitter after he posted a link to an article that he wrote on Shah Rukh and Pathaan's success, titled 'India's Tom Cruise, Shah Rukh Khan, May Have Just Saved Bollywood With His Blockbuster Pathaan'.

Posted earlier today, the tweet by Scott Mendelson of The Wrap has left fans of the Bollywood Baadshah rather upset, as they feel that the comparison is unfair. One user tweeted, "Srk is Srk he is not Tom Cruise, though am a fan of both lets not draw comparisons."

Others pointed out that Shah Rukh is indeed more popular than Tom, and therefore, no parallels can be drawn between the two. "SRK King of Bollywood who is global mega Star in the World and more famous than Tom cruise of Hollywood's. More than 3 billion people around the world knows SRK, Tom is way behind Bollywood King. Be mindful when you speak about SRK. Respect for Tom," one user tweeted

Others called SRK a national treasure, and some even went on to school the journalist, reminding him that there is no Hollywood equivalent to Shah Rukh Khan.

Some netizens even pointed out that this was "white validation", while others shared articles about Shah Rukh being the biggest and richest movie star in the world.
