Those who’ve known filmmaker Harish Shankar well over the years will also understand that he never minces words irrespective of the platform - virtual or offline. As of now, the writer, director is leaving no stone unturned to finish Ustaad Bhagat Singh’s shoot on time and ensure an early 2024 release. The action entertainer is the Telugu remake of Theri, featuring Sreeleela as the female lead.
He has faced trouble from miscreants on social media over a couple of days where they’d proclaimed that Harish Shankar was posting a series of abusive tweets from a backup Twitter account and shared screenshots of the same. Refuting all such rumours, the director responded strongly to trolls who keep finding reasons to target him on social media time and again.
“Excuse me..I am never scared of anyone sir. If I need to express something, I do it through my account and don’t need another one. Having said that, I don’t encourage foul language even if someone uses it to defend me. I don’t want your support with vulgar and foul language and I can defend my self,” he tweeted in response to fans who were coming to his rescue regarding the controversy.
The previous day, a fan had sarcastically posted a tweet about Harish Shankar’s need to take care of Ustaad Bhagat Singh’s execution, given how he’s wrapped 50% of the shoot in a quick span. Harish Shankar responded, “What else can you do apart from praying to God for a good film? Don’t leave your career, job and studies to the almighty too, all the best.”
Devi Sri Prasad is scoring the music for the film which has cinematography by Ayananka Bose. Santosham filmmaker Dasaradh has come up with the screenplay. Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar are producing the film under Mythri Movie Makers. Earlier this year, Harish Shankar made his OTT debut with ZEE5’s ATM.
