Actress Regina Cassandra, who was seen in two Telugu films this year - Rana Daggubati starrer 1945 and a special appearance in dance number in Acharya - has wrapped shooting for another film titled Utsavam. The film, revolving around the plight of theatre artistes from Surabhi Nataka Mandali, is written and directed by Arjun and bankrolled by Suresh Patil under Hornbill Pictures.

A first-time actor Dilip Prakash plays the lead in the film that has an ensemble cast comprising Prakash Raj, Nasser, Rajendra Prasad, Prema, Brahmanandam, Ali, Raghu Babu, LB Sriram and Priyadarshi. The film has a capable technical team, with cinematography by the renowned Rasool Ellore and music score by Anup Rubens. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is the editor.

Utsavam was shot across various in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal and Nepal. The makers promise a film that is made on a lavish scale and say viewers can expect nothing short of a sumptuous visual feast in the months to come. The team has simultaneously completed the post production formalities and is aiming for a massive release soon.

Regina is also awaiting the release of director Sudheer Varma’s Saakini Daakini next, the action comedy in which Nivetha Thomas plays a key role. Saakini Daakini will have a direct release on Netflix. She’ll also seen in a bilingual titled Nene Na/Soorpanagai, helmed by Caarthick Raju.
