Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is back with another multi-starrer theatrical release, titled Uunchai. And he recently revealed who influenced him to do the film.

The veteran actor was present virtually at the trailer launch of the film, which was attended in person by director Sooraj Barjatya, and actors such as Anupam Kher and Boman Irani, among others.

It was repeorted that Abhishek Bachchan insisted that his father take up the film. When he was asked about this during an interactive session with the cast and crew, Amitabh agreed that it was on Abhishek's insistance that he listened to the script and, eventually, take up the film.

At the trailer launch event, Amitabh said, "When your son grows up, he starts wearing his father's shoes. He becomes your friend and guide, so once he tells you to do something, you listen. This film was one such example."

I was extremely nervous while narrating the script to Amitabh Bachchan: Sooraj Barjatya

For his part, director Sooraj Barjatya shared that he was extremely nervous before narrating the script to the megastar.

Sooraj said, "I remember once, a few years ago, I went to narrate the script of Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon and sir (Amitabh Bachchan) has a typical way of listening to the narration. He does not blink; he looks at you constantly and listens to the script with rapt attention. It's not easy to face such a magnetic personality. I remember that this time, when I had a meeting for the Uunchai narration on a Zoom video call, I took anti-anxiety tablets before sitting for the narration. I was that nervous!"

"Having said that, once I started working with him, it was easy sailing. Mr Bachchan is the most sincere and easy person to work with. He is a good listener on the sets and he teaches you so much, if you are lucky to spend time with him in his vanity van, which I did. He would share poetry, talk about life, philosophy, purane kisse...I have become his fan once again," shared the veteran filmmaker.

Uunchai revolves around senior people who decide to climb to the base camp of Mount Everest to keep a promise to their friend.

Directed by Sooraj Barjatiya and produced by Rajshri Productions, Uunchai — featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Sarika, Neena Gupta, Parineeti Chopra and Danny Denzongpa — is set to release in theatres on November 11.
