VA 26: Vijay Antony announces new film; title to be revealed soon

Actor and composer Vijay Antony, who was last seen in Hitler, has announced a new project. Tentatively titled VA 26, the title of the project will be unveiled on May 19, Monday. VA 26 is helmed by filmmaker Joshua Sethuraman, whose film Gentlewoman was released earlier this year.

The multi-faceted artiste Vijay Antony had announced several new projects recently, including Maargan and Shakthi Thirumugan. In the latest, the actor-composer-editor also announced his 26th film as an actor. Tentatively titled VA 26, the film is directed by Joshua Sethuraman.

Notably, Joshua made his directorial debut earlier this year, with Gentlewoman, a slow-burn thriller drama starring Lijomol Jose, Losliya Mariyanesan and Hari Krishnan in the lead roles. Not much about VA 26 has been unveiled so far. It is produced by Vijay Antony's home banner Vijay Antony Film Corporation. The title will be unveiled on Monday, May 19 at 5 pm. The makers are expected to announce the cast and crew in the time to come.

The Romeo actor, who has been seen in films like Naan and Pichaikkaran, has his next release Maargan scheduled on June 27. Maargan is helmed by editor-turned-filmmaker Leo John Paul in his debut. It is a murder mystery crime thriller, with Vijay Antony playing a cop in this world of detective fiction. Actors Samuthirakani, Brigida Saga, Mahanathi Shankar, Prithika, Vinodh Sagar, Deepshikha, Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru Archana, Kanimozhi, and Anthagaram Natarajan are part of the cast.

Gentlewoman is Joshua Sethuraman’s first directorial and is available for streaming on Prime Video. Headlined by Lijomol Jose and Losliya Mariyanesan, the film is about two women who come from different backgrounds but have their fates entwine because of one man. The film opened to positive reviews upon its release.
