Tamil film Vaa Vaathiyaar had been in the making for a while, and is finally to release in theatres this month. From its initial release date on December 5, it has been pushed to December 12. Starring Karthi in the lead role, Vaa Vaathiyaar is a comedy drama, written and directed by Nalan Kumarasamy in his first collaboration with Karthi.
As per the social media buzz, the story of Vaa Vaathiyaar revolves around a grandfather and his grandson. An ardent fan of MG Ramachandran, a yesteryear actor, the grandfather raises his grandson believing that the latter is an incarnation of the star. But when the grandson grows up to become a fun-loving cop, his grandfather sees him very different from MGR, causing a rift between the two. From the plot of the film, Vaa Vaathiyaar appears to be a fun and entertaining commercial film, which will star Karthi as the grandson and Rajkiran playing his grandfather.
