Vaadivaasal, centered on Tamil Nadu's bull-taming sport jallikattu, is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu

Vaadivaasal is happening, and we had earlier reported that the works for the Suriya-starrer film has begun. The film is directed by Vetrimaaran, and the latest update is that GV Prakash has begun scoring for the project, the composer took to social media to announce the same.
Vaadivaasal has been a long-pending project which did not take off for years. However, only recently the makers had announced that the works for Suriya-Vetrimaaran film have commenced. The recent update is that GV Prakash, who has worked with Vetrimaaran in films like Asuran and Aadukalam, has started scoring for Vaadivaasal songs.
GV Prakash and Vetrimaaran go a long way together, with the musician working with director from the latter's debut Polladhavan. The duo's filmography includes Visaranai, Aadukalam and Asuran. Now, they will be collaborating one more time with Vaadivaasal. The film stars Suriya in the lead role, and will be about bull-taming sports, which is called jallikattu in Tamil Nadu. The actor had been taking sessions with bulls to practise the art. The pre-production works are happening in full swing. Vaadivaasal marks the first time Suriya and Vetrimaaran are collaborating.
Earlier speaking, Vetrimaaran had announced that Vaadivaasal will begin shooting from April or May. Vaadivaasal is backed by Kalaipuli S Thanu under V Creations banner. It is expected that the makers will announce the cast and crew of the film in later stages. A release date for the film is yet to be announced by the makers. For both fans of Suriya and Vetrimaaran, Vaadivaasal is one of the most expected projects, which not only is touted to be action-packed but also an emotionally charged film.
Meanwhile, Suriya is currently expecting the release of his film Retro, slated for May 1 in theatres. The film is written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj and co-stars Pooja Hegde, Joju George, and others. On the other hand, Vetrimaaran last saw the release of Viduthalai: Part 2 featuring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi.
