Tovino Thomas-starrer Vaashi is special for movie buffs for more than one reason. The film is the most ambitious project of actor-turned-director Vishnu G Raghav, who is directing the project after preparing for nine long years. The movie has Keerthi Suresh playing the female protagonist, the project brings her back to Malayalam after the Mohanlal-starrer Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham.
Team Vaashi has wrapped up their shoot recently, which is an exciting news for film lovers. Tovino took to his Instagram handle to share the news. He posted a series of pictures, too, which includes the director, the actress and the entire crew members.
He wrote a grateful note on his caption, thanking the director, his co-actor and the team and wishing himself the best. His note ends with a curious line that reads, “the film portrays something that’s super relevant and it will all reach out to you soon”. This has made his fans even more eager to know what they have in store.
Tovino and Vishnu had earlier planned to collaborate for a short film nine years ago, which didn’t materialise. Later, they decided to team up for a film. Vishnu started working on its script long ago until he finalised the present version. After the actors were brought on board, the film went on floors last year.
The movie marks the debut collaboration of Tovino and Keerthy on screen. Backed by Keerthy’s father G Suresh Kumar, the project is made under the banner of Revathy Kalamandir. Co-produced by Menaka Suresh and Revathy Suresh, the film has Nithin Mohan as its executive producer. Its cinematography is handled by Roby Varghese Raj while Mahesh Narayanan has monitored the editing.
An announcement on the release date of the movie is expected to happen soon.
