The romantic web series Vaat Vaat Ma became popular among viewers as soon as it was released on ShemarooMe. Since that time, the cast and the director came together for the first time, to talk about their show.

During a live Instagram chat, the show’s director Kartavya revealed that Malhar Thakar, who is an iconic figure in the Gujarati film industry, is one of those actors who completely surrenders to his director.

“I have known Thakar for a long time. We worked in the theatre together. After he grew in the industry and delivered hit films, this was our first venture together. He completely surrenders to the director. When I worked with him, I found that quality very appealing,” he shared.

Commenting on another veteran actor Chetan Daiya, Kartavya said, “I had also seen Chetan doing theatre. Since I also belong to that background, I understand the kind of talent he has. I could see how disciplined each actor was when it came to performances.”

He further added, “None of them had ego clashes either. Despite all that, we got an opinion from everyone and the end result is our web series.”

Coming to Puja Joshi, who had just arrived to Ahmedabad from Mumbai, Kartavya said that they just did not know how to behave in front of her. “We were all confused about how to behave in front of Puja Joshi, since she came from Mumbai. Thakar then asked us to behave as we normally are. So we focused on our work. Then we all got along,” he shared.

Malhar intervened and said, “Actually, we people in Ahmedabad could talk to even strangers for 2 hours. Puja was actually shocked upon seeing us.”

Vaat Vaat Ma is one of the few web series which was released on ShemarooMe. The OTT platform is well known for releasing Gujarati plays, which cannot be physically enjoyed owing to the lockdown situation.
