Vaathi Twitter Review: Dhanush wins hearts in this film about the importance of education

Dhanush's maiden release of the year Vaathi has opened to positive reviews.The bilingual film opened to packed theatres at 8am IST, in both Tamil and Telugu (Sir in Telugu). Vaathi has Dhanush playing a school teacher who takes on the corrupt educational system in the film, including the commercialisation of education. The film, directed by Venky Atluri (which marks hide debut in Tamil), has Samyuktha as the leading lady. The supporting cast includes Samuthirakani, Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Ilavarasu and Aadukalam Naren. Vaathi has been bankrolled by Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.

Actor Nithiin was all praise for the film and he wished the team the very best. Taking to his social media handle, the actor wrote, "#SIR In cinemas, From Tomorrow!Hearing great things about the film already Congrats to my dear Swami #VenkyAtluri & Grand Welcome to @dhanushkraja garu to Telugu. My heartfelt wishes to my hattrick producer @vamsi84 n @sitharaents , each and everyone from the Team #Sir (sic)."

Michael actor Sundeep Kishan, too, wrote, "Lot of my Dear ones in this one Wishing my fav @dhanushkraja anna , #VenkyAtluri , @gvprakash, @vamsi84 garu , @theSreyas , #SamyukthaMenon & the entire team of #SIR / #VaathiAll the very Best for today ...Hearing Fab things already (sic)."

Dhanush has been receiving a lot of praise for his performance in the film. One of the users called it a beautiful message about the importance of education. He wrote, "Sir: Beautiful message about the Importance of EducationDhanush action, story,Direction , screenplay,Gv prakash BGM - All super Must watch film in theater's, don't miss it especially family audience and students Finally one word Heart touching film (sic)."'

A few others have likened the film to an outdated subject with nothing interesting to offer.

The digital rights of the film have been bagged by Netflix. Vaathi will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
