Vaazha- Biopic of a Billion Boys created waves when it was released in theatres last year. The Malayalam film, which is produced by Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey director Vipin Das, featured social media influencers in lead roles. After the film struck a chord with the audiences, the makers announced the sequel.
Vaazha 2 has now gone on floors, but with an exciting new addition of filmmaker Alphonse Puthren, among its cast members. Here’s all the update about the Vaazha sequel that you need to know.
Vaazha 2 was officially launched in Kochi on April 8, 2025. While Vaazha was helmed by Anand Menon, the sequel will be helmed by Savin SA. Vipin Das, the director of Saiju Kurup's Antakshari, will once again be back as the scriptwriter for the Vaazha sequel. Photos from the launch ceremony are doing the rounds on social media. But more importantly, Premam director Alphonse Puthren would be a part of the Vaazha 2 cast, as per reports. This has added to the buzz for the movie on social media.
Siju Sunny, Joemon Jyothir, Saaf, Anuraj, Anshid Anu, and Amith Mohan had played key roles in Vaazha. The 2024 film also featured Jagadish, Kottayam Nazeer, and Azees Nedumangad.
Hashir, Alan Bin Siraj, Vinayak and Ajin Joy will be part of the sequel, which has cinematography by Akhil Lailasuran. More details of the rest of the cast and crew are not known. Vipin Das, Harris Desom, PB Anish, Adarsh Narayan and Icon Studios have backed the sequel.
Vaazha followed a bunch of youngsters, who have forever remained backbenchers, as they navigate school and college life.
