Maareesan update: We had earlier reported that Maamannan co-stars Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil will be teaming up once again for a film that is titled Maareesan. It is now been learnt that the shooting for the film is half way through and rest of the filming will resume once Fahadh finishes his shoot for Pushpa: The Rule.

Maamannan, directed by Mari Selvaraj, features two powerhouses of talent, Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu. While both of them have a defined career and strong suits of their own, their acting prowess is once again going to create magic onscreen. The duo will be starring in Maareesan, an upcoming Tamil film directed by Sudheesh Sankar.
While the title look was launched earlier this year, the latest update is that 50 percent of the shooting of the film has been completed. The team is now waiting for Fahadh to finish shooting for his portions in Pushpa: The Rule before wrapping up with the film. Maareesan is backed by Super Good Films as its 100th production venture.

The film’s plot is yet to be revealed. Maareesan’s technical team consists of Yuvan Shankar Raja, who will be scoring the music for the film, while Kalaiselvan Sivaji is on board to crank the camera. The film’s editing will be handled by Sreejith Sarang. The upcoming film will mark the second collaboration of Fahadh and Vadivelu. A release date has yet to be announced by the makers.
Meanwhile, Fahadh has a series of projects lined up in his kitty. He is part of Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, and also has Pushpa: The Rule in Telugu, opposite Allu Arjun. In Malayalam, he has Aavesham, which is scheduled to release on April 11. Besides, the actor will also be leading two projects, Oxygen and Don't Trouble The Trouble, which will be backed by SS Karthikeya. Oxygen and Don't Trouble The Trouble will mark the directorial debut of Siddhartha Nadella and Shashank Yeleti, respectively.
