Vadivelu and Shivani Narayanan to shoot a high-energy number for Naai Sekar Returns

Filming for Vadivelu’s Naai Sekar Returns is almost complete, with just a song left, for which the comedian is expected to shake a leg, along with Shivani Narayanan of Vikram-fame. According to sources, it will be shot on the outskirts of Chennai, soon. We hear a grand set has been erected for the same.

A source tells OTTplay, “For now, Vadivelu is occupied with Udhayanidhi Stalin's Maamannan. The team is shooting in Salem. Once he comes to Chennai, we'll start work on this song after rehearsals.”

Five months ago, the entire team of Naai Sekar Returns camped in London where Santhosh Narayanan was busy composing music songs. Lyca Productions, which is bankrolling the film, released a picture of the entire unit being there.

Naai Sekar Returns, shot in and around Chennai, Mysore, Sri Lanka, Hyderabad and London, is directed by Suraaj. The film is a spin-off of the director's 2006 crime drama, Thalai Nagaram. Notably, Naai Sekar was the name of Vadivelu's character in the film.

Interestingly, Prabhudheva choreographed a song for Vadivelu in Naai Sekar Returns. Recently, the duo featured in a video, which went viral; where the comedian sang the 'Sing in the rain'.

This film marks their first collaboration in 13 years, after 2009's Villu (which was directed by Prabhudheva and featured Vadivelu as the comedian.) Further, they've worked on multiple projects including Mr Romeo, Love Birds, Kadhalan, Raasaiyya, Engal Anna and Kaadhala Kaadhala.

Naai Sekar Returns marks the fourth collaboration of Vadivelu and Suraaj, following Marudhamalai, Kaththi Sandai and Thalai Nagaram. The supporting cast includes Cooku With Comali-fame Sivaangi, Redin Kingsley, Sanjana, Anandaraj, Vigneshkanth, and Lollu Sabha Seshu.

In March, Shivani had confirmed that she was, indeed, a part of this Vadivelu-starrer. “From enjoying his memes and films to sharing screen space with him, I’ve come a long way. Happy to be associated with Lyca Productions on Naai Sekar Returns, alongside the legendary Vadivelu sir," she wrote.

Shivani became a household name after she was seen on Bigg Boss Tamil 4, hosted by Kamal Haasan. Besides, she has done soaps on Vijay television, including Pagal Nilavu, Saravanan Meenakshi 3, and so on.
