Malayalam director Jeethu Joseph is currently hogging headlines after he confirmed that his much-anticipated movie, Drishyam 3, is set to release in the first week of April 2026 . But Mohanlal-led Drishyam 3 is not Jeethu Joseph’s first release of the year. Instead, it is another thriller Valathu Vashathe Kallan, which is slated to release on January 30. In the latest update, the satellite and OTT rights of Valathu Vashathe Kallan have been acquired by Goodwill Entertainments, which had earlier backed Asif Ali’s hit film Kishkindha Kaandam.
Who acquired the Valathu Vashathe Kallan OTT rights
The production company, Goodwill Entertainments, announced on social media that they have acquired the satellite and digital rights of Valathu Vashathe Kallan. The upcoming film stars actors Biju Menon and Joju George.
They had previously made Kishkindha Kaandam, starring Asif Ali, Vijayaraghavan and Aparna Balamurali. Kishkindha Kaandam was directed by Dinjith Ayyathan and penned by Bahul Ramesh, whose latest film is Eko.
Though it is confirmed that OTT and satellite rights have been sold, there is no official update on which platform the Valathu Vashathe Kallan will drop online. Kishkindha Kaandam is streaming on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium.
What is the plot of Valathu Vashathe Kallan?
Valathu Vashathe Kallan revolves around police officer Antony Xavier (Biju Menon) and Samuel Joseph (Joju George). The recently released teaser of the film confirms that Valathu Vashathe Kallan focuses on an investigation into a crime. However, cop Antony and Samuel appear to be on opposing sides, as hinted by the teaser.
The film is release in theaters on January 30, along with Bhavana’s movie, titled Anomie.
When will Jeethu Joseph’s Drishyam 3 release
On the other hand, Jeethu Joseph’s Drishyam 3 will release in theatres in April 2026. The director did not give a specific date, but confirmed the film would be out in the first week of April. Another big Malayalam film, Patriot, is also releasing in April but probably later in the month.
