Valimai: Ajith Kumar's action entertainer is roaring big time on OTT as well, breaks another record on ZEE5

Ajith's action entertainer Valimai had one of the best theatrical openings in 2022 and turned out to be a major crowd puller in the post-pandemic era in Tamil cinema. Written and directed by H Vinoth, Ajith was seen in a smashing cop avatar after a long time and was pitted against Kartikeya Gummakonda in the action entertainer that also starred Huma Qureshi as the female lead. The film released across multiple languages on ZEE5, a month after its theatrical release, on March 25 and has been on a record-smashing spree ever since.

In just one week since its OTT release, Valimai has amassed 500 million streaming minutes on ZEE5, a new record for the platform. The film is proving to be a major win for ZEE5 and it's no exaggeration to call it a digital blockbuster. There's good news for Ajith fans who're eager to watch the film in Malayalam. ZEE5 has received several requests from fans to release the film in Malayalam over the past few days and looks like the Malayalam version of Valimai will be streaming on the platform soon.

An additional feature for Valimai's OTT release was the streaming of several deleted scens for the film which has given streaming enthusiasts more reasons to rejoice. Ahead of the OTT premiere, ZEE5 had also unveiled Ajith's poster spread over 10,000 sq ft in Chennai. Valimai is produced by Boney Kapoor of Bayview Project LLP in collaborationwith Zee Studios. Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music director of the film while Nirav Shah is the cinematographer. Ajith, Boney Kapoor and H Vinoth have reunited for their third consecutive collaboration recently.
