Valsala Club: Roopesh Peethambaran-starrer to clash with Shane Nigam's Balti

Malayalam film, Valsala Club, will hit the big screen soon. The makers have confirmed that the comedy drama, which marks the directorial debut of Anush Mohan, will have a theatrical release on September 26.

Fictional small town, Bharathakkunnu, is the setting of this film. This place is known for having an odd culture in which halting weddings is not frowned upon but rather celebrated as an act of festivities. Families are happy in preventing the weddings of their own young ones, and those who do it well qualify with the Mudakku Dand honour. Meanwhile, The Valsala Club, a group of young people choose to oppose the practice. Tradition and modernity cross as a result of their protest and their goal are further upended by the showing up of an young woman in the town.

Roopesh Peethambaran, Vineeth Thattill, Akhil Kavalayoor, Karthik Shankar, Action Hero Biju-fame Aristo Suresh, Mallika Sukumaran, Jibin Gopinath, Anil Raj, Arun Sol, Deepu Karunakaran, Vishakh, Gauri, Priya Sreejith, Binoj Kulathoor, Rahul Nair, and Deepu Navayikkulam play pivotal roles in this movie. In this comedy, Dhyan Sreenivasan also portrays a significant part. The screenplay for Valsala Club was written by Faiz Jamal, while Shaurinath is the editor and cinematographer Rakesh Ashok.

If released on the said date, Valsala Club will run in theatres along with Vineeth Sreenivasan's directorial Karam and Shane Nigam-starrer sports drama, Balti. The majority of the Onam flicks, particularly Lokah: Chapter-Chandra, are doing well on the big screen, so there weren't many films released in theatres this month. Asif Ali's Mirage and Dhyan's dark humour, Vala, had a theatrical premiere last week but received mixed reviews from the audience. Meanwhile, a number of highly anticipated Malayalam flicks will be releasing in October. These include Mammootty's Kalamkaaval, Pranav Mohanlal's Dies Irae, and Soubin Shahir's Paathirathri.
