Roshni Prakash, Samuthirakani, Mysskin, Ridha, Chhaya Devi, Bala Sivaji, Shanmugarajan, Yohan Chacko, Kavitha Gopi, Brindha Sarathy, Mai Pa Narayanan, Aruldas, Munish Sivagurunath and others are also part of the film.
Arun Vijay plays a deaf and mute person Kote, for whom violence speaks louder than anything. As he lives with his sister whom he dotes after, Kote does odd jobs to sustain a living. While working as a security guard at a local orphanage, he witnesses an incident which prompts him to take up violence.
Vanangaan opened to negative reviews upon its release, with many critics calling out the voyeuristic filmmaking of sexual violence. It is to be noted that Vanangaan was first launched with Suriya, who later opted out of the project.
