After playing a gangster in Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, Arvind Swami is back as a cop in Vanangamudi, which is directed by Selva of Naan Avan Illai and Thalaivasal fame.
Arvind tweeted the announcement of the film’s teaser a day ago, garnering an exciting response. The teaser shows the actor donning the khaki uniform, which he pulls off effortlessly. It gives us a peek of the many people who want him either dead or killed or ‘alive’.
Vanangamudi also stars Ritika Singh, Simran Bagga and Nandita Swetha in lead roles. D Imman had previously collaborated with Arvind Swami in Bogan and with the director in Naan Avan Illai 2.
The upcoming movie’s shoot, which took place in Chennai, Tuticorin and Kodaikanal, concluded in January 2020, as confirmed by the actor’s tweet.
Arvind has several films lined up for release including Naragasooran, Kallapart and Sathuranga Vettai 2 starring Trisha. He is currently awaiting the release of Mani Ratnam’s anthology Navarasa, in which he is acting in a segment titled Project Agni and is directing another segment named Routhiram. He is also part of Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming biopic of J Jayalalitha, in which he plays the role of MGR.
Vanangamudi is produced by Ganesh Ravichandran under the banner of Magic Box Films Production.
