Vanitha Vijaykumar claimed the attack was in retaliation for her daughter Jovika's involvement in the protest against Pradeep Antony, which ultimately led to his eviction from Bigg Boss Tamil 7.
On Sunday, former Bigg Boss Tamil contestant Vanitha Vijaykumar revealed that she had been assaulted by an unidentified assailant, resulting in bleeding from her face. She shared a photo showing her injured eye, visibly swollen and blackened from the alleged attack.
"Bravely posting my attack . #BiggBoss7Tamil is just a game show on tv . I don’t deserve to go thru this," she captioned the photo.
While she has not been able to identify her attacker, she noted that this assault was in connection with the events unfolding on the Bigg Boss Tamil. "Brutally attacked by god knows who ! A so called #PradeepAntony supporter. Finished my #BiggBossTamil7 review and had dinner and walked down to my car i parked in my sister sowmyas house was dark and a man appeared from nowhere and said red card kudukreengala," she alleged.
According to Vanitha, the attack was in retaliation for her daughter Jovika's involvement in the protest against Pradeep Antony, which ultimately led to his eviction
"I took first aid and left home with rage and not able to identify my attacker. He laughed like a lunatic which haunts my ears. Taking a break from everything as i am not in a physical condition to appear on screen. For those who support disturbed ppl danger is just a feet away," she said.
Vanitha also noted that she would not file a police complaint in connection with the attack, stating, "I lost trust in the process."
Vanitha has been very active on the internet when it comes to sharing her thoughts and opinions on the controversies surrounding Bigg Boss Tamil season 7.
Pradeep Antony's out-of-turn eviction was a watershed moment in this season and received polarising reactions. Even after weeks and numerous clarifications by the showrunners, contestants and the show's host Kamal Haasan, the controversy continues to make headlines for all the wrong reasons.
The showrunners have not reacted to Vanitha's latest allegations.
