The trailer of Jiiva's comedy caper Varalaru Mukkiyam was released today. Jiiva essays the role of a playboy which also stars Kashmira Paradesi (of Sivappu Manjal Pachai fame) and Pragya Nagra as the leading ladies. Going by the trailer, it seems like Jiiva dates both ladies at the same time and seeks advice about love and romance from VTV Ganesh. The actor is also seen as a fun person who lives life according to his own rules. The film is directed by debutant Santhosh Rajan. Though there are certain scenes that evoke laughter, some of them appear to be quite cringey as well.

Taking to his social media handle, Jiiva wrote, "Enjoyable trailer from #VaralaruMukkiyam is here  https://youtu.be/mR_v_e52TN0 Catch the laugh waves on big screens from Dec 9th (sic)."

The film is produced by Jiiva's home banner Super Good Productions. Music for the film is by popular Malayalam composer Shaan Rahman. Cinematography is by Siddharth Ramasamy, editing by Srikanth NB and art direction is by AR Mohan. The supporting cast includes VTV Ganesh, KS Ravikumar, Motta Rajendran, Shara Saranya and Siddique. Varalaru Mukkiyam is slated to release on December 9.

Jiiva is currently hosting the game show Sarkaar with Jiiva on the digital platform Aha. He is also part of Golmaal, a comedy film written and directed by Pon Kumaran. Speaking to OTTplay, Jiiva had said, "I am also doing a Hindi film, which is loosely based on cricket. Since I have already worked on 83, I think it would be easier for people to recognise me. It's for Aanand L Rai's production house."

Jiiva was last seen in a cameo in Nitham Oru Vaanam and in Sundar C's Coffee with Kadhal in which he shared screen space with Srikanth and Jai. The film opened to negative reviews and tanked at the box office.
