Box Office: Will Varasudu survive the heavy competition from Sankranthi biggies?

Varasudu is Dil Raju's latest film which hit the screens on the 14th of January. The original Tamil version was released a few days back on the 11th of this month and is doing decent business at the ticketing windows in Tamil Nadu. But that is not the case here in the Telugu version.

Though the film started with solid occupancy from the early morning shows, the occupancy went down a bit by the evening and night shows due to dull word of mouth. As the other Sankranthi biggies, Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya are running to packed houses, things have become quite tough for Varasudu at the Telugu box office.

One of the reasons for this is the lack of proper promotions in Telugu. Dil Raju, being a top producer failed to bring Vijay here to Telugu states for the promotions. Vijay's following has increased a lot in Telugu states but as the competition is strong these days, Varasudu will surely find it tough to go all out at the box office.

Dil Raju is trying hard to keep the film in the news and has planned some post-release promotions in the next few days. Only time will tell how much will these promotions work in the favor of the film or not. Vamsi Paidipally has directed Varasudu and Rashmika plays the female lead.
