'Varisu team, Where's Khushbu?' Twitterati question after the actress's portion goes missing from the film

Thalapathy Vijay's latest outing Varisu released to packed theatres yesterday ahead of the harvest festival Pongal. The family drama-cum-action entertainer opened to positive reviews and has been dubbed as a film that's made for the Thalapathy fans. However, one thing that did not go amiss was the absence of Khushbu Sundar, who was said to be playing a crucial character in it. A number of questions have been raised about whether her portion was chopped off and some have even gone on to wonder what her role possibly could have been in the film.  Some have also stated that her portions could have been chopped off due to the length of the film (the film is almost 3 hours long).

During the shoot of Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu, speculations were rife that Khushbu was also part of the film. However, it was only in October that Khushbu confirmed her presence and dropped a picture with Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna. She had captioned it, "Extremely happy to be part of this family. ( Was waiting for the official news from the production before me saying anything about it.) (sic)."

Khusbu had also spoken about how Thalapathy Vijay had shot for the climax scene with a high fever and that he would go and get some sleep in a garage during the breaks. She had also stated earlier that her combination scenes were only with Vijay and she was fascinated by his dedication to his work.

Even during the audio launch of Varisu, Vijay had spoken about Khusbu addressing her as 'didi'. He had also reminisced about the days when he had gone to watch her films in theatres.

Now a new video is doing the rounds where the actress has denied being part of the film and that she had gone to meet Sarathkumar and Prabhu. She added that she was shooting for another Telugu film nearby and had dropped in at Varisu set as a courtesy visit. She also stated that she has no connection with the film.
