The much-awaited audio launch of Vijay's Varisu was held on Saturday evening (December 24) at Nehru Stadium in Chennai. The event was a gala affair with Vijay making a heartfelt speech to his fans. The cast and crew of the film was in attendance and the man of the moment, was of course, Vijay, whose selfie with his fans have taken over the internet. Now, we hear that the audio launch is all set to be streamed on SUN TV on January 1 at 6.30pm as a New Year special.
In the meantime, the film's leading lady, Rashmika Mandanna, who is teaming up with Vijay for the first time, thanked everyone who came for the launch and said that she wanted to virtually hug everyone and that spending time with them was the best feeling. She wrote on her social media handle, "Thank you so much for coming out to meet us… We felt your love and we wanted to give it back to you in some form and the song was one of those forms… Soon I want to atleast virtually meet all of you Spending time with you all is THE best FEELING! (sic)."
Varisu has music by Thaman and this is the first time that he is scoring music for a Vijay film. The album has five songs, namely, Ranjithame, Thee Thalapathy, Soul Of Varisu, Jimikki Ponnu and Vaa Thalaiva. While Ranjithame (sung by Vijay and MM Manasi) and Thee Thalapathy (sung by Silambarasan TR) had already gone on to become chartbusters, Vaa Thalaiva was performed live by Shankar Mahadevan.
Much to the audience's delight, Thalapathy Vijay sang a few lines of Ranjithame on stage and soon the audience broke into a thunderous applause. After taking a video selfie with his fans, Vijay said that he didn't know how to tweet and asked his manager to share the same on Twitter and asked him to caption it, '#EnNenjilKudiyirukkum (sic)." Now that the audio launch is all set to streamed on New Year's, it looks like the year is beginning on a great note for Vijay fans.
