The wait is nearly over as Baby John is finally gearing up for its OTT release. Prime Video has dropped the film, but it is on rent and available for ₹249. The action drama directed by Kalees stars Varun Dhawan in the leading role along with Wamiqa Gabbi, Zara Zyanna, Keerthy Suresh (making her Bollywood debut), and Jackie Shroff. Baby John reimagines Atlee's 2016 Tamil blockbuster Theri, which featured Vijay and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles.
In the 2024 release, a sex-trafficking group interrupts John (Dhawan) and Khushi's (Zyanna) tranquil life. Before beginning over, he reveals his history as Deputy Commissioner Satya (Dhawan), a man who seeks vengeance for the murder of his family by protecting young girls and punishing those responsible.

Kiran Koushik shot the film, and Ruben edited it, and Thaman S. composed the score.
The theatrical release of Baby John occurred on Christmas Eve, 2024, to mixed reviews from reviewers and a disastrous performance at the box office.
On its first day at the domestic box office, Baby John was expected to have earned between ₹11.25 and ₹13.5 crore nett. The film's overall worldwide gross as of January 2, 2025, was ₹53.4 crore, with ₹39.74 crore coming from India and ₹13.66 crore worldwide. Its global gross was expected to be between ₹56.49 and ₹59 crore when it ended its run.
Earlier, while talking about Baby John, Dhawan said in an interview that there was a rationale for Atlee's arrival with this film; the filmmaker informed them that they needed to alter the film's geography significantly. The actor believes that altering the film's geography significantly is all that's necessary, allowing it to function as an adaptation rather than a true remake.
Moreover, Dhawan went on to say that the film featured a modern perspective on parenting and real-life occurrences concerning the safety of women in India.
Baby John will have its full-fledged OTT release on Prime Video a couple of weeks later, that is, by February 20-21, 2025.
