Varun Dhawan is one of the most talented actors in the Bollywood industry. 2023 has been a good year for the actor, especially because of his recently digitally released movie ‘Bawaal’ which received appreciation from all corners of the world.
Today morning, the 36-year-old actor grabbed headlines after he appreciated popular actor Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2. Interestingly, within a span of just 3 days beginning August 11, Gadar 2 has collected a whopping Rs 135 crores and is the second-highest earner of 2023.
In an Instagram Story today, Varun Dhawan attached a post by news portal Pinkvilla which read, “Sunny Deol is letting #Gadar2 numbers do all the talking while he politely gets into the car today.” In the Story, Varun Dhawan wrote, “Power moves silently.”
Why was the post deleted by Varun Dhawan?
While certain fan pages of Sunny Deol are appreciating Varun Dhawan’s gesture, a few of them are wondering what the hidden meaning of this message is.
Earlier in June this year, the makers of Bawaal revealed that the film is skipping its theatrical release and instead will be released digitally. Soon after this development, a few movie buffs believed that Varun Dhawan and Bawaal makers were compelled to release the film digitally to avoid its clash with the high-budgeted, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani at the theatres.
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani minted over Rs 100 crores at the box office after being promoted lavishly by Dharma Productions across mediums of communication. If reports are to be believed, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is created with a budget of Rs 300 crores.
On the other hand, Gadar 2 – a film created with a budget of less than Rs 100 crores – has minted over a century of rupees at the box office. Thus, Varun Dhawan has taken an indirect dig at Karan Johar’s directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
However, owing to his close association with Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan deleted the Instagram Story.
