Varun Sandesh, Vithika Sheru share how they fell in love on the sets of Paddanandi Premalo Mari

Varun Sandesh, who rose to prominence with Happy Days, Kotha Bangaru Lokam, played lead roles for several years and has transitioned into a character artiste seamlessly now. He is married to actress Vithika Sheru, with whom he fell in love on the sets of a film titled Paddanandi Premalo Mari. The celeb couple graced Vennela Kishore’s talk show Ala Modalaindi this week.

In the show, the couple reminisced how they were convinced about marriage right after their film’s shoot. “I’d first met Varun when Srikanth Addala was giving him a narration of Kotha Bangaru Lokam; I was still in my high school days then. We’d met formally only before the shoot of our film Paddanandi Premalo Mari. We took a long time to break the ice and talk to one another,” Vithika shared.

“I thought he was a popular actor and hence, a man of few words and may be he didn’t want to speak much. I had returned from a trip to the US during a schedule break. Given it was the place he grew up, he started asking me about the trip and had a lot of things to share. I saw him as a completely new person ever since. We fell in love by the third/final schedule of the film,” she added.

Even before they bonded, there was a crucial scene in their film shoot where Varun had to lift Vithika. “My leg got stuck to the ground and I accidentally dropped her. I was terrified, the shoot was called off, she was hospitalised and I didn’t even have her number then. I got her number from the crew, apologised to her and we got talking. We took a lot of time to go beyond the hi..byes,” Varun stated.

It was during a song shoot in Malaysia where they got a lot of time to spend with one another; though they didn’t make it official and declare their love, it was obvious that they were interested in one another. “Even while we were dating, we managed to hide the news from our film team. There was a time when we were conversing till 5 am at a hotel by the pool and attended the shoot as if nothing was happening between us,” they mentioned.

While the happy-go-lucky persona of Varun impressed Vithika, the former was impressed by how she made a name for herself despite not having her father around since childhood. It was Vithika who made the first move in the relationship and she was clearly looking at marriage. Varun was also looking to formalise it and they didn’t face any opposition from parents. Vithika’s mother initially felt her daughter was too young to marry, but still gave her consent.

The couple tied the knot in 2016 and were also contestants in the third season of Bigg Boss Telugu.
