Varun Tej backs a flop director
Some time ago, we at OTTplay revealed that Varun Tej has signed a film in the horror-comedy genre, directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, best known for his work in Venkatadri Express. It is quite interesting to see Varun give an opportunity to Gandhi, especially since the director’s last two films were box office flops. However, Varun was highly impressed with the script and gave his approval for the project.
The film was officially launched today in Hyderabad with a small pooja ceremony, attended by Varun Tej’s wife, Lavanya Tripathi. Tentatively titled Korean Kanakaraju, the film is being made on a decent budget. Ritika Nayak will play the female lead, and her role reportedly has great scope for comedy.

The project is being produced by UV Creations in association with First Frame Entertainments. Music for the film will be composed by Thaman. Adding to the film’s unique appeal, Varun Tej will be seen in a quirky role with a Korean backdrop.
